HOURCAR members are covered by a comprehensive insurance policy, with no out-of-pocket costs for all “not-at-fault” damages to HOURCARs. Purchasing a damage fee waiver does not affect this insurance coverage; however, if you cause “at-fault” damage to an HOURCAR, you will be assessed a damage fee of up to $1,000 to cover the cost of repairs—unless you have a valid damage fee waiver. The organization is responsible for payment to HOURCAR for any “at-fault” damage caused on their account.

How It Works
1. Sign up for a business account. Make sure that you select the proper Admin, as they’ll be in charge. Adding a Damage Fee Waver is a great recommendation to waive the $1,000 at-fault fee in the event of a crash.
2. Apply as an admin. Once your organization is set up, you’ll receive an invite to create an individual account that will be linked the business account. If you intend to be an admin only and do not intend to drive a vehicle yourself, let us know and we can waive the driver’s license requirement. We’ll process your profile in 1-3 business days and let you know when you’re set up as the admin.
3. Add a payment method. You will receive monthly invoicing for your organization that will charge automatically to the card on file. If you need payment via check instead, please contact Member Services for assistance.
4. Invite your team! The Admin can invite or remove team members and will receive monthly invoicing for your organization. Background checks typically take 1-3 business days to review, so invite sooner than later.
5. Audit and review your teams activity. This is a helpful tool in case your team member forgot where they went last month, had an emergency service call, and more.
HOURCAR
Works with Evie
It’s a twofer: when you sign up with HOURCAR, you also sign up with Evie. This gives you access to all-electric, one-way, free-floating carshare service with over 170 shared vehicles in the twin cities.
Remember Evie trips are one-way and HOURCAR trips are round-trip. You can reserve an HOURCAR up to 6 months in advance, allowing you to drive a Subaru to St. Cloud, get the Mitsubishi for that office relocation, or a Hyundai for those meetings in Rochester. If you’re staying in town, use Evie for a quick one-way trip.
Setup a Business Account
All business accounts are billed on the first of every month to the credit card on-file. While we setup your account, we will contact you for your form of payment. If you’d prefer invoice and payment via ACH or check, please let us know at that time.
Do you have a promo code? Know those are only valid for individual (personal) accounts and do not apply to business accounts.
All Drive Credit expires 60 days after applied, unless stated otherwise. View credit via the app or in your account online.

Start an electric HOURCAR = $2 unlock fee and $2 Drive Credit upon successful trip end with vehicle charging
Refer a Friend = $25

The below credits are manually issued. To receive credit, you must email trip details (start/end/date/time) to [email protected]. Credits will be issued within 72 business hours, valid for the next 60 days as Drive Credit. Trip costs will not be refunded.
Kindness Credits = $1-$20 (thanks for watching out for others!)
The below fees are not charged if you are enrolled in a PLUS plan during the time of incident. The cost of the ticket is not included.
Towing Processing Fee = $15
Parking Ticket Processing Fee = $15

At-Fault Damage Fee = up to $1,000
We charge fees to discourage inconvenience to fellow members of our carsharing community. We’d always rather hear from you than not if there’s anything that we should be aware of, so communicate with us to avoid most fees.
Excessive Cleaning Fee = up to $200 per instance (includes smoking, pet, trash, and odor)
Biohazard Cleaning Fee = $250 biohazard service removal fee + Unavailable Vehicle Fee per Day + other additional fees as relevant
Unsecured Vehicle Fee = up to $75 per occurrence (check your trip is ended by making sure the doors are locked)
Unavailable Vehicle Fee = Day rate times number of days vehicle was impounded/unavailable for rental
Dead Battery = up to $40 per occurrence (first step is to make sure all headlights are off)
Excessive/Major Violation of Terms = $250 Fee + Cost of repair/cleaning + possible membership revocation
Excessive Complaint = up to $50 per incident
Late return = $40 per incident
Return with 1/4 tank or less of fuel = $25
All plans have a non-refundable $25 One-Time Registration Fee to process your driving history (unless a valid promo code is entered, or the Access PLUS plan is selected during application which may adjust the $25 registration fee.) Those with international driving licenses should apply as normal, and if additional information is needed, we will reach out to you. HOURCAR does not charge additional fees to process non-Minnesotan driving licenses. All fees are non-refundable. Driving credit cannot be used to pay state and local taxes or fees.. Qualified tax-exempt organizations will need to report taxes paid for state and federal reimbursement.
