HOURCAR has always placed the highest value on the safety of our members. Every day, our team is 100% focused on getting people where they need to go reliably and safely.
In light of the continuing spread of the coronavirus and the increasing number of confirmed cases of COVID-19, and informed by recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and the Minnesota Department of Health, HOURCAR is implementing a series of responsive measures. These measures are intended to accomplish two goals. First, we want to do everything we can to protect the health and safety of our members. Second, we want keep our service operational so that people who rely on it, especially those who have limited transportation options, are able to get safely and reliably to and from their destinations of choice, including purchasing vital supplies outside their neighborhoods if local stores are out of stock.
Here’s what we’re doing in response to the coronavirus outbreak.
- We’re changing our protocols for fleet visits. All HOURCAR vehicles will now be sanitized by our fleet team during every visit in addition to regular cleaning. Starting this week, we’ll place a sticker in the upper left corner of the windshield to indicate when the car was last cleaned and sanitized.
- We placed sanitizing wipes in all vehicles last week. Please use them at the beginning and end of your trip, and be sure to leave the container for the next member to use. If you find the wipes container empty or missing, please let us know.
- We are also asking all our fleet team members to be especially diligent in their own wellness practices, and, as always, to stay home if they are sick or exhibiting symptoms.
- As the situation develops, we may need to adjust our response. We’ll let you know if that happens.
