HOURCAR Announces 2024 Impact Report

Minnesota’s original nonprofit carshare operator, announces the release of its 2024 HOURCAR & Evie Carshare Impact Report, highlighting the utilization of services across different communities throughout Minneapolis, Saint Paul, and the Metropolitan Region. With detailed metrics, the report documents continued growth in the utilization of HOURCAR’s services in 2024. Electric vehicles continue to lead demand with an increase of 32% of electric trips and 21% of electric miles driven, year over year.
The 2024 Impact Report highlights many accomplishments, including:
32% membership increase, exceeding 10,000 members
27% trip increase, spanning over 2.5 million miles
7,992 metric ton greenhouse gas emission reduction
In 2025, HOURCAR celebrates 20 years of operations! Launched in May, 2005 as a service under the Neighborhood Energy Connection, HOURCAR has grown to be America’s largest nonprofit carshare operator.
