Membership

HOURCAR Organization Memberships give organizations a simple way to provide employees, students, or volunteers with on-demand access to cars. Organizations create one account and invite drivers, who can then book trips on the organization account when they need a vehicle.

Why Organizations Choose HOURCAR

  • Solves real transportation gaps without long-term commitments

  • Costs less than parking subsidies, mileage reimbursement, or fleet vehicles

  • Supports sustainability and transportation equity goals

  • Works for hybrid, shift-based, and flexible workforces

  • Allows students to meet transportation needs for class or volunteer commitments

  • No insurance, maintenance, or vehicle management required

  • Cost Center options to assign drivers to specific billing codes

How It Works

  • Create an Organization Membership account and identify Admin for the account

  • Invite drivers to join the organization’s account

  • Approved drivers can reserve cars as needed

  • Billing and usage are centralized

Who It’s For

  • Employers offering commuter or mobility benefits

  • Nonprofits and community organizations

  • Healthcare, education, and public sector employers

  • University departments or groups offering student transportation options

How It Works

1. Sign up for an organization account. Make sure that you select the appropriate Admin, as they’ll be in charge.

2. Apply as an admin. Once your organization is set up, you’ll receive an invite to create an individual account that will be linked the organization account. We’ll process your profile in 1-3 business days and let you know when you’re set up as the admin.

If you intend to be an admin only and do not intend to drive a vehicle yourself, let us know and we can waive the driver’s license requirement.

3. Add a payment method. You will receive monthly invoicing for your organization that will charge automatically to the card on file. If you need payment via check instead, please contact Member Services for assistance.

4. Invite your team! The Admin can invite or remove team members and will receive monthly invoicing for your organization. Background checks typically take 1-3 business days to review, so invite sooner than later.

5. Audit and review your teams activity. This is a helpful tool in case your team member forgot where they went last month, had an emergency service call, and more.
