HOURCAR Welcomes Amanda LaGrange as President & CEO

Next chapter for Minnesota’s Carshare Network will focus on growth and increase access to affordable carsharing options

HOURCAR, Minnesota’s nonprofit carsharing network and operator of the Evie Carshare, announced today that Amanda LaGrange has joined the organization as President & Chief Executive Officer.

LaGrange is a seasoned executive with more than 13 years of leadership experience at the intersection of environmental sustainability, social enterprise, and operational growth. Most recently, she served as COO at SERI, a global nonprofit driving electronics sustainability. Prior to that she served as CEO of Repowered (formerly Tech Dump), where she successfully scaled the organization into a nationally recognized model for electronics recycling and fair-chance employment.

“HOURCAR saved people in the Twin Cities $23 million last year,” said Will Schroeer, Chair of the HOURCAR Board of Directors. “Amanda wants to save people money, while making sure they can get to work, to the doctor, to see their families. She is the perfect person to do that, combining deep operational and financial expertise with a strong commitment to helping people. We are thrilled to welcome her to HOURCAR.”

With a background in corporate finance at General Mills and a degree in accounting, LaGrange brings a high level of analytical sophistication and data literacy to the organization. This expertise will be instrumental as the nonprofit continues strengthening its internal infrastructure and leveraging technology to provide more efficient, sustainable, and equitable transportation throughout the Twin Cities.

Amanda has been recognized as a “Titan of Technology,” is a Bush Fellow, and volunteers on the Equity and Inclusion Commission for the City of Roseville. She is a board member for Eureka Recycling and is deeply committed to advancing innovative, community-centered solutions in the region.

“Not enough folks know about HOURCAR and Evie Carshare,” said LaGrange. “I’m excited to help amplify the organization’s incredible story while expanding access to affordable, sustainable transportation that truly serves people and communities.”

HOURCAR operates nearly 300 shared vehicles across Minneapolis and Saint Paul through its HOURCAR and Evie carshare services, providing residents with access to transportation without the cost and burden of car ownership.

The organization also expressed gratitude to Interim CEO, Amy Brendmoen, who has led HOURCAR over the last nine months.

“We are incredibly grateful for Amy’s tenacity, steady leadership, and commitment during an important period for the organization,” said LaGrange. “Her leadership clearly helped stabilize and strengthen HOURCAR while preparing the organization for this transition.”

As the organization enters its next phase, LaGrange and her team remain focused on:

  • Expanding access to affordable, sustainable transportation

  • Growing memberships and strategic partnerships

  • Delivering a reliable and easy user experience

  • Strengthening internal operations and organizational discipline
