Your monthly plan includes rates for both HOURCAR and Evie Carshare. You are only charged one monthly plan fee for both services, but rates between the two services are different based on one-way and round-trip costs.
*A Damage Fee Waiver can be used to waive a member’s damage fee for an incident that results in “at-fault” vehicle damage to an HOURCAR. HOURCAR members are covered by a comprehensive insurance policy, with no out-of-pocket costs for all “not-at-fault” damages to HOURCARs. Purchasing a damage fee waiver does not affect this insurance coverage; however, if you cause “at-fault” damage to an HOURCAR, you will be assessed a damage fee of up to $1,000 to cover the cost of repairs—unless you have a valid damage fee waiver. The organization is responsible for payment to HOURCAR for any “at-fault” damage caused on their account.

All business accounts are billed on the first of every month to the credit card on-file. While we setup your account, we will contact you for your form of payment. If you’d prefer invoice and payment via ACH or check, please let us know at that time.
All Drive Credit expires 60 days after applied, unless stated otherwise. View credit via the app or in your account online.

The below credits are manually issued. To receive credit, you must email trip details (start/end/date/time) to info@HOURCAR.org. Credits will be issued within 72 business hours, valid for the next 60 days as Drive Credit. Trip costs will not be refunded.
Kindness Credits = $1-$20 (thanks for watching out for others!)
The below fees are not charged if you are enrolled in a PLUS plan during the time of incident. The cost of the ticket is not included.
Towing Processing Fee = $15
Parking Ticket Processing Fee = $15
Toll Charge Processing Fee = $15
At-Fault Damage Fee = up to $1,000
We charge fees to discourage inconvenience to fellow members of our carsharing community. We’d always rather hear from you than not if there’s anything that we should be aware of, so communicate with us to avoid most fees.
Excessive Cleaning Fee = up to $200 per instance (includes smoking, pet, trash, and odor)
Biohazard Cleaning Fee = $250 biohazard service removal fee + Unavailable Vehicle Fee per Day + other additional fees as relevant
Unsecured Vehicle Fee = up to $75 per occurrence (check your trip is ended by making sure the doors are locked)
Unavailable Vehicle Fee = Day rate times number of days vehicle was impounded/unavailable for rental
Dead Battery = up to $40 per occurrence (first step is to make sure all headlights are off)
Excessive/Major Violation of Terms = $250 Fee + Cost of repair/cleaning + possible membership revocation
Excessive Complaint = up to $50 per incident
Late return = $40 per incident
Return with 1/4 tank or less of fuel = $25
All plans have a non-refundable $25 One-Time Registration Fee to process your driving history (unless a valid promo code is entered, which may adjust the $25 registration fee.) Those with international driving licenses should apply as normal, and if additional information is needed, we will reach out to you. HOURCAR does not charge additional fees to process non-Minnesotan driving licenses.
All fees are non-refundable. All charges are subject to an additional 17.075% tax in Saint Paul, 17.225% in Minneapolis, and 17.325% in Rochester, which includes city sales tax, county sales tax, state sales tax, transit improvement sales and use, and motor vehicle rental taxes. Qualified tax-exempt organizations should contact us to apply an exemption. Driving credit cannot be used to pay state and local taxes or fees.
