Being a part of our community has never meant more for us. We work, live, and play here, and work hard to be one of the best transportation organizations in the Twin Cities.
In January 2021, we announced an entirely new rate structure to our trip costs, making us more affordable for more people. In November 2021, we launched the Access PLUS plan, designed to make our service even more affordable for low-income community members by offering self-certification during registration, standard PLUS benefits, and our lowest rates available.

HOURCAR’s Community Engagement Report details more than a year of work engaging with community partners in preparation for the launch of the EV Spot Network, a unique partnership that represents the future of electric and shared mobility in the region. With goals of improving transportation equity and reducing harmful emissions, this project combines one-way electric vehicle car sharing and publicly accessible charging hubs powered by 100% renewable energy. The report includes sections on process, major findings, and recommendations.
In 2021, HOURCAR participated in over 12 events across the Twin Cities area. These events included Powderhorn Porchfest, MacGrove Fest, Selby Jazz Fest, Twin Cities Car-Free Day, Open Streets Lyndale, and multiple carshare education events at apartment buildings around town.
While at events, we provide information about our carshare services to community members and often include discounted promotions to join.
In 2021, HOURCAR performed a baseline assessment of our current membership. We have high goals to work towards and are sharing our progress here.
